We have partnered with News Corp for over a dozen years, not just on annual reports but also on a wide range of communications. As they have grown and evolved we have worked closely with them to provide clear, targeted messaging.

For the 2008 annual report we initially met with the IR/Marketing Team to discuss strategy and how the annual would fit into the overall communications objectives. We talked about how we could craft a book that would not only engage investors and employees but also reflect the forward thinking nature of News Corp with its roots in news and entertainment.
As the key message statements were developed, we researched visual metaphors, supporting typography and evolved design strategies. After presenting several concepts, the consensus was to use full-bleed black and white abstract imagery that would contrast with the color photography illustrating News Corp business segments.

When the design of the printed book was nearing final approval, we began the translation into digital formats so that News Corp could present an interactive annual report going beyond the typical PDF download usually seen in corporate IR areas. The Sundberg & Associates Interactive Media Team combined deep technological knowledge and design savvy to integrate text, imagery and music. The digital version of the report was launched to coincide with the distribution of the printed book.
It means a lot to us when a client like News Corp, with employees in diverse news, entertainment and creative services, tell us that the 2008 Annual Report was very well received. They were impressed not just by its visual impact but also by the fact that it strongly supports the strategic messages to investors and employees.
